Twinning Programs
Malaysia is popular student destination partly for its International Degree Qualifications programs such as the twinning degree (’2+1′ or ’1 +2′) programs. Started some 20 years ago, these programs have help parents saved substantial amount of money by enabling students to pursue the first or second year of the degree program in Malaysia and the final part overseas. Besides Malaysians, many international students have benefitted by the programs. Today, there are many different bachelor degree programs from Engineering related courses, Accounting and Finance to Business related courses, can be completed by twinning.
Currently, Malaysian colleges have entered into agreement with well-known universities from the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, New Zealand and France. Under the program, the partner university provides the curriculum and course materials to be taught at the Malaysian colleges. Examination is set and marked by the overseas partner university. Upon successful completion the entire course, graduates will get degrees awarded by the foreign partner university.
Apart from the benefit of saving substantially on tuition fees and living expenses, students also acquire the learning experience of two countries.
